CartSwap helps you shop Walmart’s online catalog and find cheaper substitutes to build a lower-cost cart. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. We built CartSwap to need as little of your data as possible.
CartSwap does not require you to create an account or sign in. We do not ask for your name, email, address, or phone number.
Your cart, favorites, saved carts, and savings history are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to us. Clearing the app’s data or deleting the app removes them.
To show prices and find swaps, the app requests product information from Walmart’s public catalog through our backend service. These requests contain the search terms and product identifiers needed to return results — they are not tied to your identity.
If you use in-store barcode scanning, the app uses your camera to read a barcode. Camera images are processed on your device to detect the barcode and are not stored or transmitted by CartSwap.
CartSwap Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat, our subscription provider. Apple handles your payment; we never see your card details. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated, anonymous app user ID and basic purchase/device information needed to validate and restore your subscription. To understand how the app is used and to improve it, CartSwap uses Mixpanel for analytics. Mixpanel collects usage and interaction data — for example, which screens you view and in-app events such as app opens — along with basic device and app information (device model, operating system version, app version). This data is tied to a randomly generated, anonymous identifier, not to your name or contact details.
We also use Mixpanel’s Session Replay feature, which records a visual playback of your interactions with the app’s screens so we can see where the experience can be improved. CartSwap has no login, payment fields, or other forms that you type personal information into; these recordings are linked to the same anonymous identifier and are not used to identify you. Payment entry is handled entirely by Apple and is never part of these recordings.
You can limit this collection at the device level through your iOS settings (for example, by enabling “Limit Ad Tracking” / turning off app tracking), and you may contact us at the address below with any questions about analytics data.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not maintain user profiles tied to your real identity, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers or share your data with advertisers. The analytics described above are used only to operate and improve CartSwap.
CartSwap is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
